Dr. Bridget Hier is interested in understanding how children’s academic skills develop, and how to best intervene when their skills are not developing adequately. Through her research, she focuses on identifying techniques that improve children’s abilities to generalize newly learned skills to different tasks and academic settings. Dr. Hier uses experimental methods to evaluate and contribute to behavioral models of skill development.
Dr. Hier is an assistant professor in the Department of Psychology at Syracuse University, where she teaches courses in applied behavior analysis and school consultation. She completed her graduate training in school psychology at Syracuse University, and she completed her pre-doctoral and post-doctoral training at the Devereux Center for Effective Schools (APA accredited). Dr. Hier fully supports the School Psychology Unified Anti-Racism Statement and Call to Action.
